I think I might have to add that people tends to forget a thing.
One person/A small group of people =/= The whole fandom. Saying that it’s “the whole fandom’s fault” prevents saying exactly who you are annoyed with, but instead it has the effect of possibly insulting people who doesn’t even want to be involved with the arguments in general.
Ok, sometimes it may feel like another fandom is out to get the fandom you’re in. Then it’s also a case of selective seeing. You can see negativity, but choose to ignore the positives, the support, the people who are in several fandoms.
This is a rather common fallacy in arguments called The Fallacy of Hasty Generalization. An example from a book: “Fred the Australian stole my wallet. All Australian are thieves.”
In this case, the argument would be: “One person in the other fandom complains about my fandom. Therefore, all people in their fandom dislikes my fandom.”
Tl;dr - Just because a few few people in one fandom dislikes your fandom doesn’t mean that everyone is out to get you, since fandoms contain far more people than the outspoken minority.

I’m not saying that the Homestuck fandom is any better (because I do admit, they can prove to be just as bad people think they are), just pointing out the perspectives.

Hello there! My name is Ashley and in honor of reaching 888 followers (an important num8er since 8 is the 8est num8er of all time!!!!!!!!) I’ll be hosting a giveaway of one of my favorite cosplay props! Well, something like it, anyway! But since I know not everyone is a Vriska fan (they’re losers 8ut don’t tell them I said that) i’ll be doing a giveaway for ANY HOMESTUCK THEMED FLAG YOU WANT!
WHAT YOU WILL WIN:
- One hand painted Homestuck themed flag of your choosing!
- It will measure 3x5 feet, which is the standard flag size. The flag pole will not be included.
- You will be able to choose ANY SYMBOL, ANY COLOR AND ANY CHARACTER! Want a Hope flag with the Hope colors? Fine! Want a blue flag with the Green Slime Ghost on it? Done and done! It’s up to you! WANT YOUR FAN TROLL OR FAN KID SYMBOL? WANT A GOD TIER ELEMENT THAT’S NOT CANON? GO RIGHT AHEAD!
- However I will only be doing symbols. My artistic ability pretty much ends with being able to transfer a symbol onto a stencil and onto fabric, no characters or fancy stuff. Just a simple flag style.
